Engine parts cleaning

An injection mold with blocked gas vents and baked-on PP/ABS residue was restored to full functionality after a single cleaning cycle in Keertek’s lab — eliminating the 3-hour manual disassembly and brushing routine.

The mold’s micro-vent channels — critical for preventing short-shots and burn marks during injection — were completely obstructed by polymer carbonization deposits. Traditional manual cleaning required full mold disassembly, brass brushing, and risk of vent damage. Keertek applied ultrasonic cleaning with a specialized mold-release-stripping chemistry at 65°C.

The 18-minute cycle cleared all vent channels, polished surfaces, cooling lines, and ejector pin bores — without disassembling the mold. The customer, a Tier-2 automotive plastics supplier, reported that adopting the Keertek system reduced mold downtime by 85% and eliminated vent-repair costs.

Process: Ultrasonic + mold-release-stripping chemistry, 65°C | Contaminant: PP/ABS residue, gas vent carbonization | Cycle Time: 18 min
