Railway brake calipers caked in brake dust, grease, and environmental grime were sent to Keertek for a cleaning trial. The test demonstrated that automated spray-and-ultrasonic cleaning could replace manual solvent wiping at scale.

The brake system components arrived with compacted brake-pad dust and hardened grease inside piston bores and guide-pin channels — contaminants that compromise braking performance and accelerate corrosion. Manual cleaning was taking the maintenance depot over 45 minutes per caliper. Keertek configured a spray pre-wash followed by an ultrasonic immersion stage using a heavy-duty alkaline degreaser.

Total cycle time: 12 minutes per batch of six calipers. Visual and tactile inspection confirmed complete degreasing with no residual film. The railway operator is now integrating Keertek cleaning stations into their component remanufacturing workflow.
